Social media is a great way to get your message out to the market, but you need to make sure that it gets to the right people.

There are many social media platforms available you just need to work out which ones are where your target audience hangs out.

You can do this by asking them directly which platforms they prefer or you could do a survey to help you with this. Google is also your friend for helping determine when they may hangout.

To help build your profile and following you need to make sure you are doing these things:

1. Provide engaging content and be informative and authoritive

Provide engaging content for your customers that is knowledgeable, informative and useful.

Be the authority on the subject and show you know your stuff. Give them tips and tricks to help with their problem and answer any questions they may have quickly

2. Be consistent (and build trust)

Consistency is key. You don’t have to be on social media all day, every day. Just spend as much time as you can afford. If you decide to post twice a week – then post twice a week. You need to be the one they can rely on. Fading in and out doesn’t show consistency.

3. Engage your audience with relevant information

Engage with your audience often. Answer their queries straight away and reply to their comments. The more quickly you respond with the right information the better the rapport you build with them.
